Calvert Lumber Company has been serving the Shenango Valley and surrounding areas since 1946. We are dedicated to selling high quality lumber to the professional builder as well as the do-it-yourselfer and homeowner. About the lumber we sell

Lumber is where we differ mostly from the other building supply yards. We are the specialists in lumber for residential and commercial building and remodeling. Our number one priority in the material we stock is the highest quality at the best possible price. Our lumber buyer, Steve Calvert, is an expert in purchasing lumber. Through many years of experience he's learned which mills put out the finest quality of product available and those are the mills that our lumber comes from. Other lumber yards may tell you they can get the same species of lumber that we have if you want, but chances are it will not be near the quality that we stock.

Not only is our lumber of the highest quality, but we have several species to choose from. Our main line is hem-fir, or white fir if you will. It is superior to the spruce (SPF) that is sold at most other lumber yards and home centers. Hem-fir is less prone to the bowing and twisting that you get with spruce (SPF). Hem fir is the choice species of the professional builder.

For those projects that need something with extra strength, we also have in stock douglas fir.

Again, other lumber suppliers may tell you they can get douglas fir if you need, but chances are, the quality just won't compare to what we have right here in stock. And by the way, our stock is always kept under roof, or under cover until it can be put under roof.
